Assignment#2 part 2 communicating sentence

In this Assignment, I chose Century Schoolbook typeface. I find this typeface very simple to deliver the idea of a conflict between two parties. This typeface is used in history books, so I find it legitimate to use it because this period of time will be a huge change in our world's history. My message is simplicity. I try to express the idea of war (conflict) between the two parts of Libya (the east and the west) in a very simple and direct way. In my work, I tended to present some roughs as titles of reports in a newspaper. In some other roughs, I tried to visualize the conflict by creating some shapes out of the letters which could express the meaning of the war.

  1. Roughs An excellent job with your roughs. Good selection of typeface – from the History books. Also interesting , you had to put them in context to their placement.
Design 1 Congratulations. The negative space is working well. The small dot from the “I” is playful and gives direction. There is a hanging sense to the WAR. There is a definitive 2 sides. It would be 100% if the movement through the Libya could actually spell the word Libya… on both sides giving legibility and function at the same time
Design 2 Simplicity. IS it that simple or do we actually have a simple idea that is very complex. The shift in size adds interactivity. Libya’s is distresses because of the effect of the war on Libya. The placement of the type on the top of the words pauses then allows the movement to continue. The simple crack in and falling over of the is a great sense of detail.
Presentation: - An excellent description of what you were trying to do. You are a hard worker and are paying attention to the fundamentals of design and typography
